Software Architect
Nordic Investin is recruiting a Software Architect on behalf of one of our partner companies. You want architecture to improve delivery decisions, not become a layer of diagrams detached from the code.
The partner is aligning several products and engineering teams around a clearer technical direction. You will define practical principles, support major design choices and help teams modernise without freezing delivery.
The environment will suit someone who enjoys building systems, testing assumptions in code and taking responsibility for production behaviour. Technical choices are expected to be explained in terms of maintainability, reliability and the people who use the product.
How you will work
You will work in short delivery cycles with direct access to product, domain and operational colleagues. The partner expects engineers to review designs, test assumptions early and follow important changes into production. Decisions should be recorded clearly enough that another engineer can understand the tradeoff months later.
This is a leadership role with hands on responsibility for direction, decisions and the capability of others. You will create enough structure for teams to move independently, while stepping into detail when risk or ambiguity demands it. The partner wants visible ownership without unnecessary hierarchy.

Develop target architecture and realistic transition paths.
Facilitate design decisions across product and platform teams.
Evaluate service boundaries, integration patterns and data ownership.
Turn security, resilience and compliance needs into engineering guidance.
Create lightweight decision records and reusable reference patterns.
Stay close to implementation through reviews and technical discovery.
What you will bring
Broad software engineering background with senior delivery experience.
Evidence of architecture work across several teams or domains.
Strong distributed systems, API and data modelling knowledge.
Ability to balance strategic direction with incremental change.
Credible communication with engineers, product leaders and executives.
Professional English; Swedish may be required for public sector partners.
Experience that would add value
Cloud platform architecture across Azure or AWS.
Modernisation of a large legacy estate.
Experience in a regulated or safety critical environment.
A background that can succeed here
You may have developed from backend engineering, integration, cloud platforms or technical leadership. The successful architect will be able to earn trust in a code review and make a complex investment decision understandable in a steering group.
